Events Update - Fall 2020

Due to the current Covid-19 Pandemic, with sincere regrets we are unable to conduct S.A. events at this time.  We will post updates to this page in the coming weeks and months with more information as it becomes available.

Thank you for your support and patience.

> Wide World Sports

Wide World of Sports  has brought together over 200 students, parents, teachers and alumni each November to compete in a series of fun team-building events.  Members of our Student Council Executive Board serve as captains for each team of 15-20 students from all three grade levels. Although it is a cost to participate in Wide World of Sports, each participant gets a team shirt with our theme logo.

> Student Faculty Volleyball Game

The student vs. faculty volleyball game is a best of three game typically played in March. A mix of 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students are placed on a student team to play against the faculty. Teams rotate when the new service is earned with one student leaving the court and a new student coming on for a full court rotation. This gives all students the opportunity to participate in all positions during the course of the best of three game.

> School Dances

School Dances typically take place in the CMS cafeteria. Sixth grade dances happen after school from 2:50 - 4:00. Sixth grade has one night dance during the year in the Spring from 7:00-9:00. Seventh and eighth grade dance typically takes place on the same day from 7:00-9:00.

> CMS Variety Show

The CMS Variety Show typically takes place in late April. We welcome many different talents that range from many different talents such as singing, varied forms of dancing, stand up comedy, juggling, acrobatics, skits, hula-hoop, puppet show, magic tricks and so much more. Our variety show does require an audition to help maintain a reasonable running show time.

> Fundraisers

Central Middle School does multiple fundraisers throughout the school year. All of the money raised is donated to the state charity chosen each year by the NJASC board. This includes proceeds collected for entry into all of our varied events. The NJASC board chooses a different New Jersey based charity each year that focuses on helping children and families within the state. See the NJASC website for more information and this year's charity!
